Increase Task Sequence Error Dialog Timeout

A customer asked me if it is possible to increase the timeout that is associated with the error message shown during OSD with Configuration Manager or MDT. This is of course possible.

First, you can do this with Collection variables in ConfigMgr, but there is a solution that works in the same way for both MDT and ConfigMgr. Open up your CustomSettings.ini and add SMSTSErrorDialogTimeout to the third line (the one that starts with Properties=).

Next, in the [Default] section, create a new line that reads

SMSTSErrorDialogTimeout=0

You could also enter something like 3600 (one hour), but 0 sets it to “maxium” and that should be enough for everyone. I think its like a year or something.
